Bombs Away
While crowing about the successful destruction of Russian bombers, the response could cause a further escalation in the Ukraine war.
Five years in, the broad themes covered in Confidential Daily are still with us.
This week marks five years since I started writing for Confidential Daily.
It began as a project to shed light on and promote common sense during the COVID-19 hoax and has, every year, delivered some broader themes to focus on.
However, there have been two or three threads that have bound everything together.
Firstly, you cannot trust the government or the media.
I know many readers were sceptical of that position initially. Still, as the truth has been revealed, it is evident that our 'trusted' establishment institutions cannot be trusted any longer.
They have been corrupted by money and or power.
COVID is the most obvious example. The government lied, the media were paid to lie and the medical profession surrendered their principles to do what the government told them.
It's a deplorable state of affairs, but I only hope we will work through our failings and enter a new era when truth and integrity are restored.
I'm confident that will happen, eventually, but just not sure when it will. More misinformation will likely lie ahead before the new dawn begins.
Another theme that many have grappled with is the digitisation of our lives—and our money.
Those who refused to rethink Bitcoin as a viable alternative to government-issued fiat have missed out on life-changing wealth.
You can expect more such changes as our lives are increasingly digitised.
In less than a decade, I can foresee a generation living almost entirely in the digital metaverse with AI agents doing much of the thinking for them. The wealthy will have personal robots while AI will replace most workers.
Those workers will be eligible for the Universal Basic Income (UBI), which will come with conditions regarding where they can live, what they can spend it on, and the lifestyle they can lead.
Mark my words, most will be happy in their digital prison.
The third theme has been about how no one is coming to save you.
No politician or political Party will ride to your rescue. Instead, you'll be left to fight for your freedom...figuratively at least.
Financial freedom will come from fungible assets outside of government control (gold, silver, crypto) and having skills that will be helpful in our dystopian future.
Self-sufficiency in as many forms as possible will be among the greatest assets of all. Being able to provide food for your family while protecting your way of life will make us all very rich indeed.
This all sounds like the stuff of nightmares, but I can't see it changing. The march of technology, government overreach and centralised power is relentless.
The best you can do is prepare as best you can.
After five years, I'm hoping you are at least some way there.
“I’m more frightened than interested by artificial intelligence – in fact, perhaps fright and interest are not far away from one another. Things can become real in your mind, you can be tricked, and you believe things you wouldn’t ordinarily. A world run by automatons doesn’t seem completely unrealistic any more. It’s a bit chilling.”
