China's Doom-Loop
The edge of recession has now progressed to a full-blown Chinese fire drill
Cory Bernardi has been a member of the Australian rowing team, a publican, an investment portfolio manager, venture capital entrepreneur and Senator for South Australia
He is currently Chairman of the Bernardi Family Investment Office and provides regular current affairs commentary on Sky News Australia and other media outlets.
A committed conservative his entire adult life, Cory has been at the forefront of the culture wars.
As a member of the Liberal Party of Australia for over 30 years, Cory fought to support Sir Robert Menzies’ vision of stronger families, fostering free enterprise, limited government and supporting civil society for the ‘forgotten people’.
Cory was sworn in as a Senator for South Australia in May 2006 and has been an unapologetic advocate for these principles. His defence of free speech, traditional marriage and Australian culture earned him a reputation as a conviction politician who always placed principle above political expediency.
In 2017, Cory resigned from the Liberal Party, believing it had lost any commitment to its founding values and continued in the parliament on the cross-bench.
He resigned from the Australian Senate in January 2020 to return to private enterprise.
An accomplished author, Cory has written seven books including two children’s books: Fit for Life!, a book which encourages children to be active and engage in a healthy lifestyle and The Money Tree, which teaches children responsible money habits.
Annual compilations of his weekly opinion columns As I See It, No Left Turn, On The Right Track and Outside The Beltway have been published, as well as his bestselling book The Conservative Revolution.
In 2009, Cory founded the Conservative Leadership Foundation – a not-for-profit educational, research and training organisation dedicated to developing Australia’s future leaders around the guiding principles of limited government, personal responsibility, free enterprise and traditional values.
He is married with two adult children and lives in Adelaide, South Australia.
Cory is available for consulting and public speaking engagements.
