Banned by Facebook

Clearly, the Meta media giant has some residual hurt feelings from my previous criticism.

Sometimes you do things that make you feel dirty.

That's what happened to me this week when I had to establish social media profiles to support a new business I'm involved with.

One of those grubby tasks was establishing an account with Facebook so I could participate in their page management.

The last time I joined the Meta menace was when I was in parliament, and I eventually deleted my account despite having over 150,000 'friends'.

Since then, the surveillance state has kept me off this insidious platform.

Until this week.

I regret having to sign up again, but I did, following the protocols to the letter.

Two days after establishing the account and having no activity, my profile was banned for breaching the Facebook content policy. Again, I hadn't posted any content, but that didn't matter to the Zuckerberg crew.

Thinking I could outsmart the tech tossers, I used a VPN and a new email to establish a new account. Again, it was banned for content violations.

I went through the pantomime again with a new name and email address. That 'account' lasted less than 20 minutes until it too was cancelled.

Then I got a friend to sign up. Her account (on my behalf) lasted just 24 hours until I logged in from my computer.

Clearly, I am on the Zuckerberg naughty list and not allowed to waste my time on this form of crack media.

Personally, I don't care, but the principle behind this and its potential consequences should concern us all.

The Albanese government modelled a social media licensing bill on the Coalition's policy to 'protect children'. That's total BS from the UniParty operatives.

The internet license is a license for the government and their tech allies to shut you down. Every profile will need to be verified through Know Your Client (KYC) rules.

Those who don't comply will be shut out.

Those who do will have their every online utterance judged by the government or their digital commissars.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't moment.

I'm happier to be in the latter category.

Thought for the Day

"Sooner rather than later, any other form other than digital media will be a thing of the past. It won't vanish, but let's face it, this is seemingly the way of the future."
