Who Can Save Us?

The managed decline of Australia by the UniParties suggests we need a third force in politics. Right now, One Nation is the only hope.

Sometimes I question whether the political bug ever really leaves the system.

This month marks six years since I resigned from the Senate. Those years have been occupied with private business and (for four years) presenting on Sky News.

They've been very enjoyable, but there's been an element of frustration too.

The body politic is getting worse by the day. There are few original thinkers left, with most of our 'leaders' being midwit managers who are clinging to the highest paid jobs they've ever had.

They know they can't cut it in the 'real world', which is why our parliament is filled with union reps, think-tankers and assorted other non-commercial people.

Maybe there are a handful who have managed payroll for their own business or navigated government-imposed business requirements, but they are few and far between.

Some very smart people are voting with their money and investing outside of Australia, simply because things here are deemed too hard.

Then you throw in the cultural decay, and the path ahead looks desperate.

Decades ago, our immigration system was working for us.

Migrants were usually fleeing tyranny or oppressive governments and most were raised under similar value systems. When they came here, they were expected to work and to 'fit in'.

We weren't selectively ignoring our values or laws to make them feel at home. The expectation was quite the opposite.

At some point, that changed, thanks to the politicians.

Immigration became a political weapon and it was used to great effect. Handouts were provided and the life for many new arrivals was better on welfare than anything they had known before.

There was little incentive for them to change when they were getting housing, medical, money and other support services without having to do a thing.

Half a century later, our country now has more leaners than lifters.

And few politicians have the gumption to spell out the problem.

The frustration is that it takes a significant force to make the required changes, and neither UniParty participants are willing to do so.

Right now, that leaves the rising One Nation Party carrying the hope of the side.

They've already recruited Barnaby Joyce to their ranks and I hope many more follow. Right now, they are our only viable hope of making change in this country.

After 30 years of trials and tribulations, and a consistent message, Hanson's political baby is ready, willing and able to present a real option for the millions of disenfranchised Australians.

Thought for the Day

"Tolerance has to be shown by those who come to this country for a new way of life. If you are not prepared to become Australian and give this country your undivided loyalty, obey our laws, respect our culture and way of life, then I suggest you go back where you came from."
Pauline Hanson
