Taxes Taking Their Toll
I just enjoyed a lovely function as a guest of the Australian Hotels Association. As a past publican, there'
The Prime Minister has jumped on the latest distraction from the government's woes. The big problem is he's not actually prepared to confront the biggest area of concern.
I don't doubt there is a problem with violence in this country, but I refuse to be sucked into the 'men are bad' narrative the government are intent on pushing.
It's a distraction from a desperate government that has been exposed as having no clue about what's good for the country.
Albanese's newfound interest in solving the 'crisis of male violence against women' is all the more embarrassing because his government can't even tell you what a woman is.
And really, quite a few of the Albanese team have been in parliament for twenty years, and they've failed to solve this problem many times before.
Most galling of all is their steadfast refusal to accept the biggest problem that exists in indigenous and some migrant communities.
I mean, it's not like the Prime Minister wouldn't be aware there is a problem. Here's an ABC article exploring the problem from 2017.
According to the women of Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia... two women claim the Koran permits men to hit disobedient women.
"He [the husband] is permitted — not obliged, not encouraged — but permitted, to hit her [his wife]."
One must wonder how bringing in anyone subscribing to these cultural beliefs is helping to solve the current 'crisis'.
Bringing in a million migrants doesn't help anyone except the government and big business. It leaves the rest of us worse off.
But back to the violence issue.
It's well known that women in Indigenous communities are disproportionately affected by violence from men.
And yet, I haven't heard that fact emerge from the Prime Minister's mouth in recent days.
Nor have I seen the incredibly incompetent Minister for Indigenous Australians, Linda Burney, contribute to the debate.
Again, here's their ABC pointing out some inconvenient truths from 2017.
