I always get excited by the new financial year. It's another opportunity to reprioritise what's important in your life.

Because it's a 'financial' date, I tend to focus on improvements in saving, investing and budgeting.

That said, the financial re-evaluation process can be done at any time and it's always worthwhile.

Even the financial reflections of a month or so ago have proved a timely and profitable discussion for those that took action.

But the tending of the financial garden requires constant attention as the seasons change.

It appears we are experiencing that change in the global economic environment right now.
