The Few Fail the Many

The failings of any government are a delight to their opponents. The real losers are the rest of us.

The Few Fail the Many

It's an axiom of politics that you never interrupt your opponent while they are making a mistake.

Far better to allow their self-destructive urge to play out in the hope that maximum damage will be done. It's a version of political schadenfreude where you take delight in the misfortune of others.

You can understand how the right side of politics feels in Australia and the United States right now.

In the US, the Democrats are in turmoil, working out how to prevent Joe Biden from being their Presidential candidate in November.

They have many mechanisms available to do so if Biden doesn't go willingly. One option is to urge their delegates to use their 'conscience' when endorsing the candidate at their convention.

My money is on Hillary Clinton eventually becoming the nominee.

She's the establishment, a warmonger and deep state operative and has nothing to lose.

She also hates Trump and will do anything to beat him and become the first female President of the United States.

A couple of days ago, you could have gotten 50:1 on the betting markets for her being the nominee.

Those same markets are suspended today, suggesting it's a real possibility.
