When you think of the term enemy, what comes to mind?
Perhaps you think of a bitter personal or professional relationship. It could be a hard- headed business competitor or maybe you think a foreign fighting force.
In essence, the term suggests that it is someone or something that seeks to do you harm.
That's the working definition of the Internet dictionary:
One who feels hatred toward, intends injury to, or opposes another; a foe.
When it comes to a country, the enemy is most often perceived as another nation, usually with an opposing political ideology.
At least that's what it used to be.
