Silence Can Be Golden

Following a divisive Voice campaign, many YES proponents promised to stay silent. Why should we listen to them now?

The headline in Australia was one I would hope never to see.

I don't even have to know the subject matter to wish it away.

That's because Noel Pearson and the rest of the mob that tried to entrench black privilege and racism in our constitution have zero credibility in my eyes.

Whatever positive work they have done or would like to do is negated by The Voice 'Yes' campaign's abusive nature.

I remember my silent prayer of thanks when he and the likes of Marcia Langton promised to disappear from public life if the divisive and racist Voice proposal failed.

Pearson claimed that a whole generation of Aboriginal leadership would have failed if the voice didn't get up.

He also promised to 'fall silent' following a loss.

I regret that the 'silence is golden' moment didn't last.
