I was very fortunate to spend nearly 14 years in the Senate working as a politician.
I say fortunate because it is an incredible privilege to be one of the few chosen to serve the many. It’s also not for the faint of heart.
Politics is a brutal business. Things that happen in the political realm wouldn’t be allowed in any other workplace. The lies, subterfuge, direct confrontation, deception and coercion are all part of the deal.
