NDIS Sending Us Broke

The NDIS is a well intentioned public policy with costs spiralling out of control. Our politicians don't have the courage to do what needs to be done.

Here’s another of Labor’s grand plans that’s set to send the country closer to bankruptcy.

The NDIS.

It was the brainchild of Bill Shorten who ignored warnings that this well intended policy was going to require a bottomless pit of cash.

Instead those who warned of the financial risks of the NDIS were labelled heartless and uncaring.

But this week, the PM warned of budget pressure due to the NDIS, health costs and rising interest rates.

Remember, Labor introduced the NDIS and ignored the financial warnings.

They also fought against a modest copayment for doctors visits to make our health system sustainable.

They also started the spiralling national debt which is set to reach one trillion dollars this year. That was a bipartisan effort with decisions to scrap govt debt ceilings, irresponsible policies and this insane belief that deficits don’t matter.

Albo was actually one of those who urged the previous govt to borrow more because interest rates were so low.

The financially ignorant thought rates were going to stay at record lows forever.

Now they complain that the cost of government borrowing has gone up and want more of your money to pay for their mistakes.

All of this was predictable prior to the last election. I seriously doubt it would have made any difference if one side or another got in. They have both proved to be as financially reckless as each other over the years.

Now, they expect us to pick up the tab.
