Labor Loose on Border Security

Despite the proven safety and effectiveness of our existing border protection measures, the Federal Government have now signalled their intention to remove a key plank.

Temporary Protection Visas (TPV) provide safe haven for those in genuine need but do not give incentives for queue jumping residency shoppers to avail themselves of human traffickers.

As part of a portfolio of measures designed to keep our borders safe and strong, the TPVs have saved countless lives and help end the insidious racket of people smuggling.

Their removal signals that Labor cannot help but put ideology over the national interest.
