Have They Seen the Light?

As frustrating as it is when Lefties are late to the comprehending reality party, when they do, I guess we should welcome the evolvement.

It generally shows the tide is turning in a debate as a move by an institutional Leftist provides a signal or cover for others to join the pack.

That's what happened when the pack of Democrat wolves pounced on Joe Biden to force his withdrawal from the US Presidential contest. It started with some media outlets, followed by some celebrity Leftists and culminated with the political elite.

Whatever the cause, once you know the signs to look for, the collectivist intent becomes obvious.

That's what I saw when a Guardian article hit my screen. It was about the racket of our Diploma Mills that were previously considered places of higher learning.

Our University system is a joke, plagued with plagiarism and useless degrees that add little to our productivity or national prosperity.

Yes, I know there are exceptions but they are few and far between.

The University sector is now a Godless madrassa, churning out legions of entitled brain-washed zombies who know nothing of how the real world works.

Their systemic failure to maintain intellectual standards is apparent to anyone who has dealt regularly with many international students. These people pay inordinate amounts of money and get degrees even though they cannot speak, write or understand English.

How is that even possible?

That's a question normal people have been asking for years and institutional Leftists have historically labelled the question racist.

Well now the Guardian Australia has signalled it's ok to actually ask what the heck is going on.

More than a dozen academics and students who spoke to Guardian Australia, most on the condition of anonymity, said the universities’ financial reliance on foreign students over many years had hollowed out academic integrity and threatened the international credibility of the sector.

Many said the rise of artificial intelligence was accelerating the crisis to the point where the only way to fail a course would be to hand nothing in, unless universities came up with a coherent institutional response.

A tutor in an arts subject at a leading sandstone university said in recent years the number of overseas students in her classes – who may pay up to $300,000 in upfront costs – had reached as high as 80%.

Most can’t speak, write or understand basic English,” she said. “They use translators or text capture to translate the lectures and tutorials, translation aids to read the literature and ChatGPT to generate ideas.

"It’s mind blowing that you can walk away with a master’s degree in a variety of subjects without being able to understand a sentence.”

Some may question why it matters that we hand out useless degrees for money to foreign nationals. After all, that's their problem.

But it's our problem too.

Many of these students go on to stay in Australia using their useless qualifications. That's in addition to the additional pressure they place on housing, health and congestion.

As of February 2024, about 703,245 international students were enrolled to study in Australia across 1400 institutions, compared with 578,930 in 2019.

The government claims to have seen the light on these additional pressures when they announced a new cap on foreign student numbers to reduce the immigration burden.

Unsurprisingly that has the University sector crying poor and demanding compensation for ending their current tax free racket.

And because the government has had a change of approach to international students, is why the Guardian Australia feels emboldened to shed light on what they have studiously ignored for years now.

It's just another example of how the collectivist tribe known as The Left, work hand in hand to further their own agenda agenda.

It's why we all need to understand that we are only presented with what they want us to see and hear, and that is determined by the narrative of convenience.

Rarely, if ever, is it about the national interest and that's why you should trust nothing and verify everything.

Thought for the Day

“Remember, when something goes wrong in the circus they send in the clowns to distract the audience. Well, something has gone very wrong with this circus and the clowns are everywhere.”
