We are now told that inflation will be around 'longer than previously thought'.

That's according to the Treasurer Jim Chalmers, who has spent the past twelve months kicking the can of economic problems down the road.

In that respect he's just like so many others entrusted with the national finances. Few have made the tough decisions that are necessary for sustained prosperity.
