Debt Will Tear Us Apart
There's debt as far as the forecasters can see and that's set to become a problem for Australia. But does anyone really care?
Sky News host Cory Bernardi says Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen “refuses” to support the potential of nuclear energy in Australia.
Sky News host Cory Bernardi says Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen “refuses” to support the potential of nuclear energy in Australia.
Mr Bernardi says climate change “zealots” at the recent COP28 conference say nuclear is okay, with more than 20 countries pledging to triple atomic capacity to cut fossil fuel usage, despite Mr Bowen claiming nuclear is not economic or feasible.
“Incredibly his government endorsed the use of floating nuclear power plants in the form of submarines, and they’re even committed to building a nuclear repository for the waste,” Mr Bernardi said.
“But somehow floating nuclear plants are good, while those on terra-firma are verboten, it's forbidden of course, except when it's located in the suburbs of Sydney, as our existing atomic research facility at Lucas Heights is.
“You can even store nuclear waste there, in outdoor sheds, but please, please, whatever you do, do not put it safely somewhere in the outback.”
