Prime Minister Anthony Albanese really wants to be liked, and there’s no way he’s going to “man up” to China, says Verve Communications Director Prue MacSween.
“It’s quite scary because we rely so much on them,” Ms MacSween told Sky News host Cory Bernardi.
She said China has "treated us with contempt for so long" that it seems "we’re a joke to them".
“When you look at what’s happening in the South China Sea, the fact that they’re just assuming more and more control … the Taiwan sabre-rattling, they must laugh at a very weak America with a very weak president.
“And as far as I’m concerned, a weak PM in Australia – one that can be, sort of, manipulated.”
