A friend of mine floated a mind-blowing idea recently.

It's genius and could help change Australia for the better in a very short space of time.

Of course, that means it will never happen but it's an exciting concept just the same.

It arose during a discussion about the relative inexpensiveness of holiday destinations like Bali. It's cheap and close to home, which makes it very popular for holidaymakers.

These tourists plough a pile of money into the local economy, creating jobs and prosperity.

So why can't we make our own version here?
