If you are a coffee lover, be prepared to pay a lot more for your morning brew.

If you think the $5 cup of java is pricey enough, you ain't seen nothing yet.

A coffee importer told me his latest shipment went up a whopping 32%, a cost that he has to pass on to his retailers, who will, in turn, pass it on to their consumers.

And believe me, it won't be the raw price increase being passed on. Every step of the chain will add a 'little bit more' to cover the other increased costs they face.

Maybe, just maybe they'll add a little profit margin too.

It all adds up to paying $6.50 (or more) for your local caffeine hit.
