Who Gets to Be Australian?
Citizenship may be granted by law, but national identity is shaped by history, culture, and the people who built it.
The greatest fear of a politician is they'll lose their job. That means they'll have to return to the real world.
It's easy to diss the politicians for their ivory tower decision making. After all they rarely feel the impact of what they impose on people.
Their salaries are secure, they have access to a raft of additional entitlements and taxpayer subsidised staff, offices, phone, internet and cars.
I don't actually begrudge any of that.
