The Islamic Terrorist Attack upon Bondi

The Bondi massacre by two Islamic extremists wasn't just an attack upon Australia's Jewish community; it was an attack upon us all.

The Islamic Terrorist Attack upon Bondi

Bondi Beach is a sacred place for Australians. On a sunny day it is a place of mesmerising beauty: the golden sands, the blue and aqua hues of the ocean, and the sandstone headlands where pods of whales can be sighted during the months of migration.

It is a place that is open equally to prince and pauper.

It is our spiritual home of pushing back against government overreach, from the COVID ban on swimming to the 1907 bathing costume protest that broke the 19th-century beach dress codes.

Bondi is also home to the world's first lifesaving club, founded in 1907. Famous for the "Black Thursday" mass surf rescue. And the historic images of Bondi Beach during WW2, covered in barbed wire and tank traps are a constant reminder of the debt we owe past generations.

And now, our Bondi Beach is home to the worst incident of Islamic terrorism on Australian soil.

As we mourn the dead, we honour the brave: the elderly couple who wrestled a gun from one of the terrorists and were murdered; the local Bondi detective who, armed with only a pistol, took down one of the terrorists; the businessman who distracted the attackers and drew fire upon himself by throwing rocks, only to be shot, taking a bullet that would otherwise have struck someone else; and the Sutherland fruit shop owner that ran out from behind car to tackle one of the gunmen.  We pray that if faced with the same circumstances that we would be able to summon that same courage.

However, the anger is growing.

First, we had Anika Wells (Minister for Fine Dining and Rorts) calling for the tragic scenes to be scrubbed from the internet, and calling for the uncomfortable truth of the violent consequences of appeasing Islamic extremism to be "reported" to eSafety Karen for censorship.

The anger is growing against the entire Albanese regime, which has been happy to appease and embolden radical Islamic theology and antisemitism, prioritising votes over the clear and present danger of Islamic extremism. Votes first, security last.

But what has Australians truly seething is the cowardly, craven, and shameful response by Prime Minister Albanese.

Albanese's first instinct was not to confront the evils of Islamic terrorism, but to blame guns, by calling for amended gun laws, to make it unlawful to own multiple weapons.

Terrorists do not obey laws. A committed, indoctrinated terrorist will always be able to obtain a firearm, or if not, a knife, or explosives, or even a vehicle to plough into crowds.

Albanese's attempt to "blame guns" is not leadership. It is simply an effort to exonerate himself of culpability, a pathetic excuse for failing to address the real issues: Islamic extremism, religious hatred, unprecedented levels of excess migration with no obligation to assimilate, and failure to deport those who hate Australia and who celebrated the murder and rape of young women at the Nova Music Festival Massacre.

This is a typical Albanese tactic.

He used the same dishonest and deceitful strategy when announcing legislation to ban so-called "supermarket price gouging," even though the ACCC could not find a single example of it. The real problem is inflated supermarket prices across the board, driven directly by Albanese's failed Net Zero policies, which have increased the cost of producing and retailing food.

Now, we have Albanese's mealy-mouthed platitude about "coming together" which is a bit rich when he has spent years dividing Australians, smearing anyone who questions his program of unprecedented mass migration as "racist" when all know it's a policy that has caused the nation's worst housing crisis while enabling a small minority of multiple property owners (such as Albanese himself) to profit handsomely from rising rents and property values.

Albanese has proven himself unworthy to lead; his conduct demonstrates that he is unfit to be Prime Minister. If we cannot admit that the problem has been pandering to Islamic extremism, it is time for him to step aside.

How most Australians are feeling today about Albanese can be summed up by Oliver Cromwell's speech to the British Parliament in 1653:

It is high time to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonoured by your contempt of all virtue and defiled by your practice of every vice.

Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government. Ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would, like Esau, sell your country for a mess of pottage...

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you?
Is there one vice you do not possess?
Have you not bartered your conscience for bribes?
Is there a man amongst you who has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?

Ye sordid prostitutes, have you not defiled this sacred place and turned the Lord's temple into a den of thieves by your immoral principles and wicked practices?

Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed; you are yourselves become the greatest grievance.

I command you therefore to depart immediately out of this place. Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slaves, be gone...

In the name of God, go!

Thought for the Day

“At first, it seemed bizarre to find the progressive left making common cause with radical Islam. One half of the alliance professed to be pro-gay, pro-feminist, pro-whatever's-your-bag secularists; the other half were homophobic, misogynist, anti-any-groove-you-dig theocrats... it made no sense. But in fact what they had in common overrode their superficially more obvious incompatibilities, both the secular Big Government progressive and the political Islam recoiled from the concept of the citizen, of the free individual entrusted to operate within his own space, assume his responsibilities, and exploit his potential.”
