A deliberate act of sabotage has crippled the Russian gas pipelines, Nord Stream 1 & 2, to Europe.
This has occurred just as pressure to remove sanctions of Russian gas supplies was being applied by various European jurisdictions.
This is potentially a massive escalation in the conflict and comes as a super majority of voters in regions within Ukraine supposedly voted to annex with Russia.
The legitimacy of these referenda is denied by Western governments.
