When two barflies of opposing political worldviews agree, you know the system’s broken.
Sometimes industry disruption is driven by altruism. Other times it is just about the money. This is one of those times.
I admit that I love disruption of the most entrenched (and usually corrupt) industries. Whether it be politics, sport or business, when an entrenched plutocracy is disrupted the rest of us tend to benefit over time.
Today we've seen one of the biggest disruptions, this time in European football.
A breakaway Super League, involving some of the most prestigious (and richest) clubs in soccer have signed on. The entrenched authorities have threatened player sanctions and the media have meted out almost universal condemnation.
It's not surprising, you just have to understand that everyone backs the horse known as 'Self Interest'.
Some have railed against the 'closed' shop with one manager ( who's club is not included) saying:
