The traditional way that Central Banks fight inflation is to lift interest rates.

This reduces the supply of excess money sloshing  around in the system as people spend more just to maintain their borrowings. Eventually, the rates get to such a point that something breaks and the usual result is a recession.

This bout of inflation is something different.
