Call for Conscription

There are calls to bring conscription back.

The most recent is from Dr Alexey Muraviev, Associate Professor of National Security and Strategic Studies at Curtin University said now may be the time to consider the return of national service.

I know many would agree with that sentiment as a means of providing skills, discipline and focus to those entering adulthood.

The benefits are legion if the process can be managed as it has effectively in many countries.

However, it isn't a panacea.
