A Political Start is Born

JD Vance demonstrated he has the intellect to be President, something neither of the Democratic candidates can attest to.

A Political Start is Born

I just finished watching my first-ever US Vice-Presidential debate.

No doubt, I'm not the only first-time viewer here or in America. There's something strangely compelling about every aspect of this Presidential contest that extends to their underlings.

Those who did tune in saw a masterclass in debate performance by the Republican candidate JD Vance.

Vance has been painted as an extremist monster by the Lefty media but showed smarts and compassion during the two-hour broadcast.

There were times when I thought he could have been much more demanding of his opponent, referencing his embellishments and overt stupidity, for example. However, he refrained from doing so, and looking back, it was a very strategic play.

Vance was there to win some undecided voters who are a bit sceptical of Trump's braggadocio but loathe the incompetence of the Harris/Walz candidacy.

Few could have failed to be impressed by Vance. Even the die-hard Democrat talking heads admit he won handsomely.

In doing so, he presented himself as presidential, a natural successor following Trump's next four-year term. This would also have allayed any fears of his competence to step up during the next term should it be required.

You certainly couldn't say the same of Kamala's pick, Tim Walz.

By my reckoning, he told a few untruths during a nervous and clumsy performance. The fact-checking moderators didn't pick him up on it, but the public will.

However, I was genuinely amazed by Walz's failure to clear the shallow bar set for him in two instances.
